Prize Rules
Last updated: September 9, 2026
These rules apply to Qazaro contests that offer a real-world prize. They cover prizes only, not how contests are scored or run. They sit alongside our Terms of Service, and where the two differ on a prize contest, these rules apply.
The details of any one contest, its prize, its placements and its dates, are shown in the app on that contest itself. This page is the part that does not change from contest to contest.
1. What a prize contest is
A prize contest is a contest of skill. Your result is decided by how many questions you answer correctly and how quickly you answer them. Nothing about the outcome is random, and there is never an entry fee in real money. Some contests require you to qualify first, for example by completing daily tasks or by placing well in an earlier contest. Any such requirement is shown in the app before you enter.
2. Who can enter
You need a full Qazaro account. Guest accounts cannot join ranked contests of any kind, prize contests included; converting a guest account to a full one takes a moment in the app.
Beyond that there is no restriction on competing. Anyone with a full account can enter a prize contest, play it, qualify for it, and appear on its leaderboard, wherever they live.
3. Who can receive a gift card
To receive a gift card you must:
- be at least 18 years old;
- have confirmed your country of residence in the app;
- have a verified email address on your account;
- live outside the excluded countries and regions listed below;
- not have reached the yearly limit in section 5;
- hold a single account in good standing.
We ask for your age and country once, before you enter a prize contest, and reuse your answer for later contests. You can update it in the app at any time.
4. Excluded countries and regions
Gift cards cannot currently be sent to residents of: Italy, Brazil, Russia, Turkey, China, United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Qatar, Iran, North Korea, Syria, Cuba. They also cannot be sent to residents of the province of Quebec, Canada.
This list exists because prize promotions are regulated, taxed, or restricted differently in these places. It may change without notice, and the version in force is the one published here at the time a contest ends.
5. Yearly limit
A maximum of USD 500 in total gift card value per person per calendar year, counted in UTC. Once you reach it, later wins are awarded as the in-game package described below.
6. If we cannot send you a gift card
You receive the Champion Package instead: the champion badge for that contest, the champion avatar, and a coin bonus. The champion badge and avatar cannot be bought or obtained any other way.
The coin bonus is fixed at 50 coins for every US$1 the prize was worth, so a $10 prize pays 500 coins. Coins are in-game only: they have no cash value and can never be converted into money or a gift card.
Your win, your placement, your rating and your position on the leaderboard are exactly the same either way. Only the gift card is affected.
7. How prizes are delivered
Gift cards are sent by email through a third-party rewards provider, to the verified email address on your account. Each award is reviewed by us before it is sent, so delivery takes a few days. We cannot promise a delivery date, and delivery is also subject to the provider's own restrictions.
8. Accurate information
The age and country you give us must be accurate. A false declaration voids the prize, and we may reclaim a prize already sent.
9. Fair play
Prize contests are covered by the fair play rules in section 3 of the Terms of Service, and by the one person, one account rule in section 2. Creating additional accounts to enter, qualify for, or win prize contests is prohibited.
We may withhold or reclaim a prize where we reasonably suspect an account has breached these rules. As set out in the Terms, we are not obliged to explain the specific reason where doing so would reveal how we detect it.
10. What a prize is not
- Prizes are personal and non-transferable. They cannot be sold, traded, or given to someone else.
- Prizes cannot be exchanged for coins, for contest entry, or for anything else in the app.
- Coins and other virtual items can never be converted into a gift card or into money.
- Prizes cannot be accumulated, banked, or held as a balance.
11. Taxes
Where a prize is taxable, that is the recipient's responsibility.
12. Changes and cancellation
We may change these rules, change a contest's prize before that contest starts, or cancel a contest that has not yet started. Once a contest has started, its prize is fixed. If a contest has to be cancelled after it starts for technical reasons, no prize is awarded for it and any entry cost is returned.
13. Contact
Questions about a contest or a prize: [email protected].
